Our 10:30 Worship Service began with our pianist Catalin Dima playing various beautiful hymns.
Dr. Frank Alegria led the service with a welcome to all members, regular attenders, and visitors. The altar flowers were given to the Honor and Glory of God and to honor their Kids, Grandkids, and Great-Grandkids. Given by Cotton and Linda Wade.
At this time, the Congregation heard “2, 4, 6, 8, who do we appreciate?” Pastor Frank was the answer. To celebrate Pastor Appreciation Sunday, Karen Montgomery, on behalf of the Congregation, presented Pastor Frank and his wife Edna a cart filled with cards, gifts, and well wishes from members and regular attenders. Thank you Pastor Frank and Edna for serving at Lakeway UMC. We appreciate both of you and feel honored to have you leading our Congregation.
Pastor Frank reminded attendees the Bible Study Class called We Believe – The Nicene Creed is in progress. Classes are held on Thursdays from 10:00 – 11:15am. To keep the Congregation engaged in what the Bible Study Group is discussing, every 2nd and 4th Sunday, The Nicene Creed is recited in church.
Pastor Frank discussed the Resale Barn’s Food Drive which will be going on until November 23rd, the Sunday before Thanksgiving. A list of the items needed can be seen in the picture on this page, or in another part of the website titled “Resale Barn Food Drive”. If you feel led to help with this cause, please bring your donated items to the altar and leave them there. If you would prefer to give a monetary donation, label your check in notes – Resale Barn Food Drive.
A Call to Worship, an Affirmation of Faith, and The Nicene Creed was recited. Prayer Concerns and Joys were heard, our pianist Catalin Dima played music with Rachel Tillman singing a beautiful solo during the offering, and a Pastoral Prayer ending with The Lord’s Prayer.
Children’s Moment was led by Linda Lou Wade with a message of “Appreciation of God’s Gifts”.
The Morning Message came from the scripture of Luke 18:9-14 and the message was on Like Other People. Two Hymns were sung “This is My Father’s World” and “Because He Lives”. The Attendees joined hands and listened to the benediction before the end of the Service.
Lakeway UMC welcomes anyone looking for a church home to come visit. We love visitors and meeting new people.
