Our 10:30 Worship Service began with our pianist Catalin Dima playing various beautiful hymns.
Dr. Frank Alegria led the service with a welcome to all members, regular attenders, and visitors. Two sets of altar flowers were given for different occasions. The first group was given to the Honor and Glory of God and in Celebration of Edna Alegria’s Birthday November 1st. Happy Birthday Edna! Given by Pastor Frank. The second group was given to the Honor and Glory of God and in loving remembrance of her beloved Ken’s Birthday November 2nd. Happy Heavenly Birthday Ken! Given by Jan Pratt. In addition to the flowers for these two occasions, flowers were left from Jerry Ridenour’s Joyful Celebration held at Lakeway on Saturday, November 1st at 2:00pm.
Pastor Frank reminded attendees the Bible Study Class called We Believe – The Nicene Creed is in progress. It’s entering Week 5 and classes are held on Thursdays from 10:00 – 11:15am but there will be no class November 13th, 20th, or 27th. Classes will resume December 4th. To keep the Congregation engaged in what the Bible Study Group is discussing, every 2nd and 4th Sunday, The Nicene Creed is recited in church.
Sunday was All Saints Sunday and Lakeway lost five of their saints this past year. Different chimes were played for each person to represent we are all different.
Pastor Frank reminded attendees of the Resale Barn Food Drive which is currently going on and will be until November 23rd, the Sunday before Thanksgiving. A list of the items needed is listed below. If you feel led to help with this cause, please bring your donated items to the altar and leave them there. The Morning Message came from the scripture of 2Thessalonians 1:1-4, 11-12 and the message was on Give Thanks for You. Two Hymns were sung “Freely Freely” and “Jesus is All the World to Me”. The Attendees joined hands to signify we can’t do this world by ourselves and we need each other before the end of the Service.
Lakeway UMC welcomes anyone looking for a church home to come visit. We love visitors and meeting new people.
