Our 10:30 Worship Service began with our pianist Catalin Dima playing various beautiful hymns.
Dr. Frank Alegria led the service with a welcome to all members, regular attenders, and visitors. Then Pastor Frank discussed the Communion Offering which will conclude September 1st. Lakeway is collecting disinfecting wipes to be given to the Pottsboro Schools through Dadie Condron, Counselor at Pottsboro Elementary. The goal is to provide enough containers for the 130+ classrooms in need. Bring your donated wipes and place them on the table next to the pulpit. If you would rather do a cash donation, make the check out to Lakeway UMC and in the notes, write Disinfecting Wipes. The church and schools appreciate your participation.
There were two different events celebrated with flowers this week. The first set of Altar Flowers were given to the Honor and Glory of God and in loving memory of their son Cameron Minnis who passed away 5 years ago on August 23, 2020. These were given by his parents Randy and Shelley Minnis. The second set of Altar Flowers was placed in celebration of Pastor Frank and Edna Alegria’s 41st Wedding Anniversary on August 25. Congratulations and many more.
A Call to Worship was recited, Prayer Concerns and Joys were heard, and the Choir sang during the offering. The Morning Message came from the scripture of Luke 13:10-27 and the morning message was on Healing. Two hymns were sung "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" and "He Touched Me". The Service ended with a send off to take the teachings of the Jesus Christ into the world and share it with your friends and neighbors.
Come join our service this coming Sunday. We would love to worship together.
