Our 10:30 Worship Service began with our pianist Catalin Dima playing various beautiful hymns.
Dr. Frank Alegria led the service with a welcome to all members, regular attenders, and visitors. Then Pastor Frank discussed the Communion Offering for Sunday and the remainder of August. Lakeway is collecting disinfecting wipes to be given to the Pottsboro Schools through Dadie Condron, Counselor at Pottsboro Elementary. The goal is to provide enough containers for the 130+ classrooms in need. There are still two more Sundays to bring the packages of Disinfecting Wipes and place it on the table next to the pulpit. If you would rather do a cash donation, make the check out to Lakeway UMC and in the notes, write Disinfecting Wipes. The church and schools appreciate your participation.
The flowers were given to the Honor and Glory of God and in honor of Jan Pratt and for her willingness to help keep Lakeway looking tidy. Thank you Jan. Given by the Cleaning Ladies.
Next week will be the final Sunday of our popular Hawaiian shirt Sunday. Wear your Hawaiian outfit if you want to participate in the fun.
A Call to Worship was recited, Prayer Concerns and Joys were heard, and the Choir sang during the offering. The Morning Message came from the scripture of Hebrews 11:29-12:2 and the morning message was on Faith Plus. Two hymns were sung "Lord of the Dance" and "Have Thine Own Way, Lord". The Service ended with the Sacrament of Holy Communion and a send off to take the teachings of the Jesus Christ into the world and share it with your friends and neighbors.
