Our 10:30 Worship Service began with our pianist Catalin Dima playing various beautiful hymns.

Dr. Frank Alegria led the service with a welcome to all members, regular attenders, and visitors. The  altar flowers were given to the Honor and Glory of God and in Honor of and to Celebrate the Baptism of Alegria Isabella Castro, great niece of Pastor Frank and Edna Alegria but Isabella was ill so it was postponed.

Pastor Frank introduced and welcomed our new Choir Director, Dr. Robin Sweeden to the Congregation.  Dr. Sweeden has been serving in this capacity for the past few weeks and the temporary status became permanent.  We are so happy that you have chosen to lead our Choir at Lakeway UMC, and we feel so fortunate to have someone with her extended experience join us every Sunday.  Choir practice is every Sunday at 9:00am prior to the Church service, and we are always looking for new choir members.

Pastor Frank reminded attendees of the Lent season challenge of 40 cans for the 40 days, and Lakeway is participating in along with the Pottsboro Ministerial Alliance to replenish the Resale Barn Food Pantry.  Participants are encouraged to bring their cans to church and place them at the altar.

Pastor Frank also reminded folks on Easter Morning, we will have a bare cross at the front of the Sanctuary and to bring a flower from your yard, a wild flower, or any type of flower of your choice  and place on the cross.

Pastor Frank reminded everyone about the Fish Fry next Saturday night .  Pray at 5:00pm and Eat at 5:01pm.  Everyone is invited to come.

A Call to Worship, an Affirmation of Faith, and The Apostles’ Creed was recited.  Prayer Concerns and Joys were heard, our pianist Catalin Dima played music and Robin Sweeden directed the choir during the offering, and a Pastoral Prayer ending with The Lord’s Prayer.

Children’s Moment with Linda Lou Wade was held, and the children listened as Ms. Linda read a book about “The Story of Easter”.

The Morning Message came from the scripture of John 11:1-16, and the message was on “The Death of Lazarus”.  Two Hymns were sung “How Great Thou Art” and “He Lives”.     The close of the service ended with attendees joining hands and Pastor Frank asked everyone to hold hands to signify we need each other in this world and the service ended.

Lakeway UMC welcomes anyone looking for a church home to come visit.  We love visitors and meeting new people.
